Background

Lazada display advertising has been selling manual packages in Southeast Asia (SEA), combining online and offline assets to offer valuable packages for sellers. Since its inception, this process has required coordination with multiple teams, leading to frequent issues and errors. This manual approach has been time-consuming, prone to mistakes, and has resulted in inefficiencies, highlighting the need for an improved, streamlined solution.

Problem

"Operators across six countries struggle with a tedious manual process for creating display packages, leading to inefficiencies, errors, and excessive workload"

The existing manual system for booking display packages is labor-intensive and prone to mistakes.

Operators must:

  • Collect seller interest through inefficient manual methods.

  • Create and manage bookings manually.

  • Engage in extensive communication with related teams.

This process is not only time-consuming but also leads to frequent errors and increased workload, causing delays and frustration for both operators and sellers.

Solution

"Implement an automated online platform to streamline the process. This system will facilitate easy application collection, centralize package management, and enable efficient data export, reducing manual effort and improving accuracy."

1. Efficiency

Reduces man-hours by approximately 50%, significantly lowering the time and effort needed to manage display package bookings.

2. Accuracy

Minimizes human errors by automating the process and centralizing information collection and communication.

3. User Experience

Enhances the seller's experience by providing a single platform to book packages and manage reservations.

Key Takeaways

01

Listen to All Stakeholders

I learned that understanding both sellers and internal teams is essential for creating a well-rounded solution. It’s crucial to gather insights from all involved parties to ensure that their needs and concerns are aligned, leading to a more effective and cohesive outcome.

02

Be All In

I learned that each region or team may have unique requirements that cannot be addressed with a one-size-fits-all approach. By being fully engaged and understanding the diverse needs of different groups, you can design flexible workflows that cater to each specific scenario, enhancing the overall effectiveness of the solution.

03

Focus on the Objective and Problem

I learned that with multiple stakeholders, it's important to stay focused on the core problem. Avoiding complexity and staying directed towards solving the primary issues ensures that the project remains on track and delivers the necessary improvements without getting sidetracked by less critical concerns.
